The newest of all figure skating disciplines, synchronized skating is a highly technical form of figure skating characterized by speed, accuracy, intricate formations, and transitions performed by teams of 8-20 athletes. Teams compete in USFSA sanctioned competitions at 14 levels. Levels are differentiated by age, skill level, and number of skaters. There are approximately 8,000 synchronized skaters in the U.S.
The Mentor Ice Diamonds are preparing to compete in their 10th season in the synchronized skating world. The Ice Diamonds sport three teams: Pre-Juvenile, Beginner-1, & Beginner-2. Contact Sue Clemente if you are interested in joining the team.
